Methow Chapter's Spring Projects Build New Singletrack

The spring trail work party season is well underway and just as the flowers are springing up, so is the new singletrack.  In April, the Methow Chapter held work parties that constructed a new 1/2 mile singletrack extension of the Black Bear trail.  This new trail section creates another quality and sustainable riding opportunity at the Sun Mountain trails and brings the east end of the singletrack Black Bear Trail to near the upper gate on the doubletrack Winthrop Trail.  Chapter volunteers put in approximately 120 hours on this project.

In May, the Chapter will tackle another Black Bear trail project.  This time the project is on the west end of the trail and will consist of constructing a new 1/4 mile section of singletrack that will eliminate an existing doubletrack road section of the trail route.  As always, details of upcoming trail work parties can be found by visiting the "Upcoming Trail Work Parties" page on this site.
