August 11th - Cedar Creek Trail - Second Sunday Singletrack Session workparty

On Sunday August 11th, the Methow Chapter of the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance will be hosting another Second Sunday Singletrack Session. This work party is going to take on some brush work on the popular Cedar Creek trail just west of Mazama.  This trail is clear and in good shape to Cedar Creek Falls at about mile 1.75 and is clear and in good shape beyond mile 4 to its end at Abernathy Pass 9 miles in.  However, the section between the falls and mile 4 is very brushy and overgrown and dissuades a lot of trail users from going further and discovering this gem of a trail.

This brushy section of trail discourages a lot of trail users and hides miles of beautiful trail that lie beyond.

Let's make this "behind bars" view a lot better!

This is what lies beyond the brushy section.  Miles of wide open, beautiful singletrack.
With a good turnout, we can get the brushy section cleared out and enhance another excellent trail recreation opportunity for mountain biking, trail running, and hiking.

The plan is to meet at the Mazama Corral parking lot at 9am and carpool to the trailhead.  From there we'll ride or hike into the falls work from there to begin opening up this amazing trail.  Be sure to bring work gloves, a sack lunch, water, and your bike if you'd like to ride.

The Chapter has been getting some good trailwork done this year.  Let's keep the momentum going and build on it!

We're looking forward to seeing you there. Please consider RSVPing to or if you can make it or if you have any questions. (By all means though, feel free to show up and help even if you didn't RSVP)

Twisty trails,
